Simplify File Collection

Think of all the times when you had to collect important files. Or when you had to ask for those equally important photos from the last trip you made with your friends. Considering everything else that’s probably on your plate, collecting files can be a daunting experience. Especially, when what you need is related to a tight deadline.

Recently, having moved to a new apartment, I had my fair share of file gathering. Between real estate contracts, utility bills, and other necessary paperwork, I was constantly chasing down documents. All this, made me realise how useful it would be to have a simple and secure way to gather files without the usual back-and-forth of emails.

Introducing the Request Files Feature

pCloud’s Request Files is a feature that allows you to send a link to a designated folder where the recipient can upload files. No need to worry about access issues because the person with the link won’t be able to see the content that’s already in the folder. Think of it like a digital mail box where your friends, colleagues, or even landlord, can drop their files to be safely stored. What’s even more convenient is that the recipient of the link doesn’t need a pCloud account for the magic to work. This feature makes file collection and collaboration as easy as sending a quick note.

How to Set Up a Request Files Link

Creating a Request Files link in pCloud is easy and intuitive:

  1. Log in to your pCloud account and navigate to the folder where you want the collected files to go.
  2. Click on the three dots and select “Request Files”.
  3. Share the generated link with anyone, so they can upload the files straight into that folder.

Personalise Your Request Files Link

pCloud allows you to customise your links. This way you have control over how and when files can be uploaded. You can also add a personal touch to the request with a custom message. To do that, just:

  1. Log in to your pCloud account and navigate to the folder where you want the collected files to go.
  2. Click on the “Share link” icon.
  3. In the pop-up window, go to the “Settings” tab.
  4. Here, you can set password protection, an expiration date, add a custom message, or set an upload limit.

These settings make your life so much easier. For instance, you can set an expiration date for time-sensitive requests, like reports from team members. Alternatively, you might want to limit the upload size, when expecting large files. Or you may simply leave a Thank you in advance! note.

The Easy Way to Collect Files

I don’t think I’ll be moving into a new apartment any time soon, or at least I hope so. However, now, I know better. There’s a way to make file collection easier, more secure and organised. So, I don’t shy away from taking advantage of pCloud’s Request Files feature.

Nowadays, I mostly use it for projects at work. And trust me, most of my colleagues love it and use it, as well! Also, it’s never been easier to gather photos and videos from the adventures I’ve shared with friends.

Why not Give It a Try?
