Here’s a piece of interesting statistics – in 2014, 880 billion photos were taken by various devices. By 2017, this number is expected to skyrocket to 1 trillion with 80% coming from mobile phones. In other words – we take a lot of pictures each year! Now imagine losing some of these photos to phone malfunctions and theft. Ouch!

So how can you better manage your photos? Here’s the answer:

Ensure you get an extra copy of your digital memories!

Ok, so backups aren’t the most enjoyable thing in the world, provided you have to do them manually. In the best-case scenario, you will have to schedule an hour a day and pick all of the digital media you want to save. There is, however, an easy way out if you use pCloud’s mobile app for Android and iOS.

Automatic Upload is a special feature that saves a copy of your photos and videos, right after you take them with your smartphone. It doesn’t require scheduling or monitoring, which makes it a good file backup option for those with limited time.

By default, Automatic Upload is NOT activated. In order to use it, you will have to:

  • Go to Settings
  • Tick the Automatic Upload checkbox in the list of options

A new “Automatic Upload” folder will be created, where you will be able to find all backed up photos and videos.

One of the many things we like about Automatic Upload is that it is so painless to use. What’s more, it syncs all of the copied data with your desktop and my.pcloud.com.

Use subfolders to easily reach your photos and videos!

Subfolders do great when you want to find the right photo/video quickly. Try to use descriptive names when you create them – dates or names of events work perfectly fine. When you’re done with that, just move your data to the respective place.

Although this might take some time at first, effective photo management can ensure you never lose a precious memory again. Ready to back up your digital photos and videos? Download pCloud’s mobile app for Android and iOS.
