Simplify File Collection
It’s that time of the year again, when you need to request annual leave forms, collect important files, or ask for those equally important photos from the summer trip you made with your friends. Considering everything else that’s probably on your plate, collecting files can be a daunting experience, especially when you have a tight deadline. I feel you!
Recently, having moved to a new apartment, I had my fair share of file gathering. Between real estate contracts, utility bills, and other necessary paperwork, I was constantly chasing down documents. All this, made me realise how useful it would be to have a simple and secure way to gather files without the usual back-and-forth of emails.
Introducing File Request Links
pCloud’s File Request Links allow you to send a link to a designated folder where the recipient can upload files. Do not worry about access issues, as the recipient of the link won’t have access to the content that may already be in the folder. It’s like a digital inbox where your friends, colleagues, or even landlord, can drop their files to be safely stored. What’s even more convenient is that the person with the link doesn’t need a pCloud account for the magic to work. This feature makes file collection and collaboration as easy as sending a quick note.
How to Set Up a File Request Link
Creating a file request link in pCloud is easy and intuitive:
- Log in to your pCloud account and navigate to the folder where you want the collected files to go.
- Click on the three dots in the upper menu and select “Request files.”
- Share the generated link with anyone you need files from, so they can upload them straight into that folder.
Personalise Your File Request Links
pCloud allows you to customise your links, so you have control over how and when files can be uploaded:
- Navigate to the folder, click on the three dots in the upper menu, and select “Request files.”
- In the pop-up window, you can set an expiration date, add a custom message, or set an upload limit.
These settings can make your life so much easier. For instance, you can set an expiration date for time-sensitive requests, like reports from team members. Alternatively, you might want to limit the upload size, when expecting large files. Or you may simply leave a Thank you in advance! note.
The Easy Way to Collect Files
I don’t think I’ll be moving into a new apartment any time soon, or at least I hope so. However, now, I know better. There’s a way to make file collection easier, more secure and organised. And I don’t shy away from taking advantage of pCloud’s File Request Links.
